š†wengwe š…oundation awards outstanding teachers and studentsĀ

Alice and Sosten Gwengwe secondary schoolsĀ on Saturday awarded outstanding teachers and students as one way of promoting hard work.
Money amounting to K7.5 million was shared among the students and Teachers from Alice Gwengwe and Sosten Gwengwe Foundation during this year’s graduation event.
Thirty Four ( 34) students who were selected to study at different Public Universities in the country were awarded together with students who are in forms 3 and 4 and they are performing well in class.
Speaking during the function, Managing Director for Alice Gwengwe Girls and Sosten Gwengwe Boys Private Secondary Schools, Hon. Sosten Gwengwe, said the event was organised as one way of appreciating the good work by the teachers and students for their hardworking spirit as well as encouraging those going to sit for the national exams soon.
“We always recognize our members of staff to encourage them to put more effort in their work,” Gwengwe said.
In her remarks, guest of honor at the event Hon Vera Kamtukule, who is the Minister of Labour, applauded Gwengwe for his great dream of having the schools which has assisted in creating different jobs to many people in the country.
She then encouraged the candidates to work hard and come up with frying colours inorder to make the school proud as well as their parents.
The top perfomers were awarded cash amounting to K150,000 each followed by K100,000 and K75,000 respectivelyĀ  while 3 best teachers went home with K150,000 each.
Gwengwe also announced scholarships to a number of students with others on 50% and others given a full scholarship of 100%.
Gwengwe schools are rated highly because of the good results the schools have been producing when it comes to MANEB Examinations standing at 80 percent since 2008.
Award winning urban artist Kell Kay was part of the event as he entertained students with his lovely tunes.
The event was attended by parents and former students as well.
