Lilongwe Police is keeping in custody 45 people arrested for touting in different places within the city.
On Thursday and Friday, both uniformed and civilian police officers invaded places such as Shoprite, Lizulu, Malangalanga and minibus terminals arresting these people.
Of late, Lilongwe Police Station has been receiving complaints from passengers ranging from theft, harassment and use of obscene language perpetrated by the minibus-call boys.
The station has embarked on a mission aimed at creating a safe and secure environment for passengers in all bus depots within the city.
The suspects will appear in court on Monday, November 15, to answer a case of touting which contravenes Regulation 8B as read with Regulation 29 of Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Operations) Regulations.
