President Chakwera trip to the north continues being productive.
The Malawi Leader arrived in the north on Thursday October 27,2022, via Mzuzu airport with a strong message for all Malawians to live peacefully, saying all Malawians are one.
Speaking at Shoprite round about, the place that welcomes political leaders in Mzuzu, soon after landing at Mzuzu airport, Chakwera said unity is paramount and that he is back to the North to attend the first ever Karonga Chitipa Cultural Heritage.
Today Chakwera has arrived at Mbande Hills in Karonga where he is expected to attend the Karonga/Chitipa Cultural Heritage 2022 Festival at the invitation of Kyabala Ntemi Gwa Batemi Kyungu XXIV Mwakabanga III.
Welcomig the President at the venue is Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima.
President Chakwera is accompanied by Her. Excellency Madame Monica Chakwera, First Lady of the Republic of Malawi.
Hundreds of people,mainly from the two neighbouring districts, have thronged the venue which is at the foot of Mbande Hills.
Upon arrival, the President toured cultural pavilions which have been mounted as part of the event. Among merchandise on display by the locals are natural traditional foods and locally brewed beverages.
Other guests during this year’s Karonga/Chitipa Cultural Heritage festival are Right Honourable Khumbo Hastings Kachale, former Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, Speaker of the National Assembly, senior cabinet ministers, Traditional leaders from the two districts, and Tonse Alliance representatives, among others.
