President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera said donors investment in Malawi’s health sector is a huge contribution to human capital.
President Chakwera said this on Friday night at a Reception co-hosted in his honour by the Chifundo Health Foundation and Sarah Walker Foundstion at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenesse United States of America.
The Malawi leader lobbied for more US support towards the Malawi health sector in pursuit of the Malawi Vision 2063 agenda of attaining a self reliant nation.
“Investing in the health sector is one of the greatest contribution to human capital development of the country which is one of the enablers of national vision,” said President Chakwera.
President Chakwera said Malawians who he descibed as the “greatest treasure” have the potential to be successful.
The event was organised to mobilise resources that will help in the Malawi’s health sector.
This was the President Chakwera’s first function among many to come on the sidelined of the UN General Assembly.
President Chakwera is United States of America attending the 77 session of the United Nation General Assembly.
