President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera says Tanzania remains a key development partner in the areas of trade, investment, economy, education and culture.
Chakwera made the remarks on Thursday in Lilongwe when he received letters of credence from new Tanzania High Commissioner, Humphrey Polepole.
Updating Malawians through his official Facebook page, Chakwera said the neighbourliness between the two nations is critical for the people of the two countries to thrive.
“For instance, the vast import and export corridor that connects the two economies continues to offer job and wealth creation opportunities to citizens and businesses from both ends,” added the president.
“These are just some of the mutual benefits that motivate all of us to keep this relationship sound and growing.”
On this note, Chakwera restated that Malawi will continue to foster meaningful ties with Tanzania.
“High Commissioner Polepole has since assured me that his tenure is geared to develop and nurture the existing strong relations in line with our development goals,” he said.
