Chakwera to launch rehabilitation of M1 Road described as game changer

Malawi President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will on 12 July, 2022, launch rehabilitation of M1 road.

State House Director of Communication and Executive Assistant to the President Sean Kampondeni said this during the quarterly briefing at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

Kampondeni said the project is a game changer considering the fact that the road is one of the principal roads in the country.

Kampondeni said the president will also be launching the National Youth Service (NYS) a project which is worth K20 Billion.

“All these projects are within what the president promised during his compaign,” He said.

Kampondeni also expressed concern over the high levels of Fake News going round and round despite positives attached.

He said that is why State House conducts these quarterly briefings.

He said the press briefings are so crucial for keeping Malawians informed on how President Chakwera is fulfilling his campaign promises.

He said there are alot of propagandas out there which need to be cleared that is why this platforms helps to clear these enuendos.

He said the briefings are aimed at encouraging Malawians that things are happening.

“There are more negativities even where there are positive stories,”

He gave an example of the headline in one of daily papers in Malawi which read “Chakwera splashes K11Million.”

“That money never came from State House,ย  it was money from Private Sector who partnered with him after they heard that he intends to award some Malawians,” He said.
