Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Former Regional Chairman for the Centre Daniel Mlomo has rejoined the party after a brief romance with United Transformation Movement (UTM).
In his remarks, Mlomo said he has decided to come back to MCP because he has been inspired by visionary and good leadership skills exhibited by President Lazarus Chakwera.
“I have been in MCP for 19 years. I have always been an MCP member and so there is nothing new about my coming back,” he said.
The legislator has since beconed people who left the party to come back and help Chakwera steer the country to prosperity.
“MCP has done tremendous job in building this country. This is the reason more people are coming to join the party,” he emphasized.
In his welcoming remarks, MCP Central Region Chairman Zebron Chilondola said he was delighted to welcome Mlomo back into MCP fold after his brief UTM stay where he served as a regional governor.
“Am very happy to welcome Mlomo back to MCP. He is a powerful politician,” he said.
Commenting on the working relationship between UTM and MCP, Chilondola said the partnership is very cordial.
