The embattled Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has openly disses the party’s Secretary General Grizelder Jeffrey and Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa by not inviting them to the party’s top indaba.

The DPP is currently holding an executive committee meeting at President Peter Mutharika’s retirement home, PAGE House in Mangochi.
In an interview, Jeffrey confirmed the meeting but said herself and Nankhumwa have not been invited.
“This only proves that me and Nankhumwa are not the problem in the DPP. Currently, there is a court order reinstating us on our positions, but look they are there meeting and excluding us,” said Jeffrey.
The DPP is also planning to hold a rally in Blantyre, but the line up of those to grace the rally also excludes the two.
Party vice Presidents from all the regions feature on the line up while Nankhumwa’s southern region has NEC member George Chaponda and Regional Governor Charles Chaponda as the top most representative of the region at the rally.
DPP is currently divided into two camps with the other gunning for a comeback of Mutharika as the party’s presidential candidate in 2025 while the other camp is for Nankhumwa.
