First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera has today proved that she is a woman blessed with a good heart with her continued good deeds to communities.
She has come to the rescue of a family that was badly hit by floods during Cyclone Ana early this year.
In January, a heavily-pregnant woman found herself perched in a tree to run away from floods. While there she gave birth to a baby boy who she named Chisomo, meaning someone who is born by grace of God.
During her visit to Chikwawa on Tuesday, the First Lady took special interest in Chisomo for what she went through together with her mother.
Madam Chakwera was happy to see the family with such a lucky baby boy who was born on 25 January and stayed for 6 days in a tree, a survivor who she said is a symbol of God’s love.
She then distributed both food and non food commodities to communities that were inconvenienced by the floods.
The First Lady was accompanied by Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Mkombezi, Hon. Abida Mia.
Cyclone Ana killed at least 34 people in Madagascar, two in Mozambique and four in Malawi, where thousands were left homeless.
