Senior Resident Magistrate Montfort Misunje of Mkukula Court has granted bail to former Malawi National Football Team (Flames) left back Maupo Msowoya and 10 others for being suspected of stealing polythene at their place of duty Humphrey Transport.

Msowoya who was working as a truck driver and 10 other drivers are being accused of stealing polythene products valued at K35 million.
The other drivers released on bail are Yona Chabwinja, Kulinji Chiwoko, Mkandawire, James Tembo, Nelson Gomeral, Sonoden Mazunzo Nsompho, Duncane Kambale, Lukas Milanzi and Jama Kawawa.
Delivering judgment, Magistrate Misunje said bail is a right for everyone.
He ordered suspects to pay K50,000 each and non cash surity bond of K250,000. The magistrate further ordered the suspects to surrender their travelling documents. The suspects have since paid the money. The court has since adjourned the case to 23 May, 2022.
