The Malawi is set to launch the Land Information Management System (LIMS), which seeks to address all land related problems in January, 2023.
The Minister of Lands, Sam Kawale, disclosed in Lilongwe on Thursday that the development of the system will help improve efficiency in service delivery and revenue collection.
“The system will record ownership of every piece of land in Malawi as well as expedite plot application and allocation process,” he said.
Kawale added, “We will make sure the system suits Malawian context as well as ease of operation.”
The system, which is being developed, will enable online and mobile money transactions, he said.
Delivering the State of the Nation Address, Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera pledged various land reforms which included some land related laws.
