Japanese Ambassador bids farewell to Lilongwe City Council

Outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Malawi Satoshi Iwakiri on Wednesday 30th November, 2022 bid farewell to Lilongwe City Council Mayor Councillor Richard Banda.

Speaking during the farewell ceremony Banda hailed Iwakiri for initiating various development projects during his tenure.

Banda revealed that the outgoing ambassador has promised to source refuse trucks as well as organizing exchange visits with Yokohama City.

In his remarks, Iwakiri said Japanese Government will continue supporting the council in the areas of health and sanitation.

Japan has been supporting Malawi in the areas of human resource, research development, technology dissemination by dispatching experts, accepting training participants and providing equipment. In Malawi, Japan has provided over 500 experts and trained over 2,400 Malawians.
