Former President Dr Joyce Banda says will stand with the people to see their lives changed economically.
Madam Dr Banda said this at Katsokwe Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Kalumbu in Lilongwe.
Banda said she decided to source K200Million in order to boost irrigation farming and enhance access of good accommodation for the people.
Banda said she promised during the campaign that she will dedicate part of her time in assisting Malawi Leader President Dr Lazarus Chakwera in promoting livelihood of Malawians.
Banda assured people of Kalumbu that everything produced from this initiative will be exported in Dubai where there is readily available market to fetch more money.
It is sad the dam was staying idle instead of utitilised. The aim is to create value for export.
In his remarks Lilongwe South East Constituency Steve Malondera commended Chinese Government and indeed Madam Joyce Banda for the donation.
Malondera said the donation sourced by Dr Joyce Banda will change lives of people from his constituency.
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of
Malawi H.E. Mr. Liu Hongyang, said
Malawi is a Agricultural country and 80 % of its people live in rural area.
This is why after discussion his Government decided to come in and donate the cash. This is not cash transfer project but rather project for cash.
With the project 300 people will receive free fertilizer and five people will receive decent houses.
