Kasungu District Hospital HDU Opened

Kasungu District Hospital now has a 7 bed capacity High Dependence Unit, officially handed over to the people of Kasungu today Wednesday 9th November, 2022 at a function presided over by Health Deputy Minister Enock Phale  who has described the development as a milestone in as far as quality health care service delivery is concerned.

“This gives us confidence that we will manage our patients very well. I am very happy today that we shall now be able to attend to patients admitted here needing critical care support. It is at the heart of our President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to see our hospitals delivering quality health care services to the general population” Phale said.

Honorable Phale has commended USAID for the financial support that has enabled a ward the renovation and provision of the HDU equipment, 24 oxygen cylinder bank and user training through Right to Care with a call to other stakeholders to emulate the good gesture saying being a facility along M1 road which is often subjected to admitting casualties due to road traffic accidents needed such HDU facilities

Right to Care (Malawi) Board Chairperson Dr. Ann Phoya said the organisation is committed to working with Malawi government and says they appreciate the support and political will they are getting which creates a conducive working environment for development partners
