Lilongwe mega rally exposes DPP crookedness

On Monday 16 May, 2022, area 25 Pa Njanji was a place where everyone who loves Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Malawi Congress Party spent part of their day.

Pa Njanji a place just close to the Railway bridge could not contain tens of Thousands of people who came to attend the mega rally.

Alfred Jiya is the Member of Parliament for the area and he was joined with more than 25 Members of Parliament from different constituencies including speaker of Parliament Gotani Hara. Jiya, the Landlord, was also joined by several Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

All speakers spoke powerfully explaining why Malawians are experiencing high cost of living and reasons which have led into that.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo, could not hide to the public that Malawians are undergoing high cost of living due to an going war happening in Ukrain and Russia.

Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe gave another version why Malawi is experiencing shortage of forex. Gwengwe said former Democratic Progressive Party led Government borrowed $350 million.

“DPP was borrowing money in order to sugar coat the economy to look good and when IMF discovered this they demanded that Malawi should refund all the money which IMF has been giving. That has been shocking our economy because instead of doing some projects the country has been paying back the money,” he said.

Gwengwe said the issues of forex started in 2017.

“The good news is that Malawi Leader Dr Lazarus Chakwera is now here to fix this economy once and for all without cosmetic reporting,” he said.

Minister of Sports and Youths Richard Chimwendo Banda was the Guest of Honour during the Mega rally.

In his powerful speech, Chimwendo told DPP to stop painting their youths saying that exposes them to Cancer.

Chimwendo said DPP should learn from MCP on how youth behaves in the party, no Zikwanje.
