Malawi and United Kingdom agree to strengthen ties

We have agreed to continue collaborating on all issues of mutual interest

The governments of Malawi and Britain have agreed to strengthen their relationship in order to attain shared prosperity for the people of the two countries.

The two countries made the commitment on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Kamuzu Palace when the newly appointed British High Commissioner to Malawi, Ms. Fiona Ritchie presented her letters of credence to President Lazarus Chakwera.

“During the interface, we discussed how her tour of duty is expected to positively impact the Malawi – UK relations in improving trade, investment and governance,” Chakwera said through his Facebook page.

“We have agreed to continue collaborating on all issues of mutual interest.”

Malawi and United Kingdom have been in a cordial relationship for many years.

Fiona Ritchie has replaced David Beer whose term expired in July, 2022.
