Lilongwe District Medical Officer Dr Thokozani Liwewe confirmed to the Deputy Minister about the machine problem however Dr Liwewe said the spare part of the machine was already on its way from Blatantre to Lilongwe through Speed Courier.

However, the sparepart called element arrived at the Hospital as the Deputy Minister was at the facility for restoration.

Speaking after the tour, Phale said he came at the facility after reading reports which indicated that there was a problem at the hospital.

Phale said he was happy with the restoration of the equipment saying following the breakdown, the Hospital was still using Blessings Hospital facilities.

“The problem came because there was no power at Blessings Hospital so it was bad indeed but the situation has been normalised,” said the Minister.

Phale said his Ministry is buying 20 sterilizers and that one will be handed over to Bwaila as well.
