The Malawi National Examinations Board ( MANEB) has disclosed that it will use electronic registration and payment system of the examination fees for this year’s examinations.

The disclosure has been made by the Executive Director for MANEB professor Dorothy Nampota at a media briefing held on Wednesday in Lilongwe.

According to Nampota, the first phase of the system will be implemented in 3 out of 6 education divisions that include Northern education division, Central west education division and South East Education division.

Nampota observed that the manual system which MANEB has been using to register candidates had a lot of challenges that affected the operations of examinations.

Nampota believes that the E- registration and payment of examination fees will address challenges like embezzlement of examination fees by some school operators and officials as well as reduce manual errors among others.

On his part Director of Admistration in the Ministry of Education James Manyetera said that the Ministry of Education will directly work with MANEB in the implementation of the electric registration and payment system by among others providing training to the users and school administrators.

Meanwhile, MANEB has announced that registration of candidates for 2022 will start on 4th January and will end on 18th February 2022.
