Have you heard of Innocent Semu? May be the answer is no. To some the answer is yes. This is a young man who has worked tirelessly to change lives of people.
Semu comes from Kasiya in Lilongwe but is based in Lumbadzi Dowa.
Semu is currently working as Executive Director at the Organisation that he found Rhema Institute for Development.
Semu has managed to drill more than 60 boreholes and provided water cleaning facilities in the area of Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa.
Not only that , Semu has managed to provide clean water in Lumbadzi and at Khongoni in Lilongwe. Such is the man called Semu.
Semu has also managed to provide a maize meal at Lumbadzi where people were travelling long distances to access maizemeals.
Semu has assisted hundreds of young girls to achieve in education by providing basic necessities of education through girls and women empowerment project.
Just recently Semu through his Rhema Institute for Development commissioned an ambitious K80million piped water project at Dowa Turn off Trade Centre in Dowa district.
For long time people in Dowa have been drinking contaminated water together with livestock.
For the first time in this country, people will be using water credit cards provided to draw water from the taps in their homes and water kiosks put up at Dowa turn off. “This is technology at its best because we can switch off the tap while at the office and monitor water levels using laptops and phones,” He said.
Semu works hand in hand with the Deputy Minister of Local Government who is also Member of Parliament for Dowa South East Constituency Halima Daud.
