Two weeks after President Lazarus Chakwera was at Parliament to open the 5th meeting in the 49th session of budget meeting 2022/2023 budget, he is this morning expected back into the chamber, this time to take questions from Malawians across the country via respective MPs while clarifying some issues bordering his SONA.
Communication from the Speaker of the Malawi Parliament, Catherine Gotani Hara on Monday, February 14,2022 indicated that President Chakwera will be at the Parliament by 9:30 am on Tuesday, 15th February 2022 (today).
Since he came into power, it has been his tradition as bound by the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi that President has to go to Parliament after delivering the State Of National Address (SONA) to clarify on other issues in the SONA, and also answer some questions from various Members of Parliament pertaining to the SONA.
As it has been since President Chakwera took over as the President and started appearing before Parliament for such national duties, ears and eyes of citizenry will be at the Parliament Building to hear and see for themselves what will transpire in the chamber as the State President will be making some points within his SONA clear and answering some questions pertaining to the same from Members of Parliament that he once served as its member for Lilongwe North West Constituency before assuming the Presidency.
