President Lazarus Chakwera on Monday morning launched the country’s vision implementation for the first 10 years of the Malawi 2063 at a function that took place at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC).

Speaking during the launch, President Chakwera said, the Malawi 2063 is a representation of the new Malawi being built, and the one to become in the years to come, adding that the first 10 years of the 42- year project should give Malawians a thought of what to be fulfilled, and steps on how to do it, hence the launch of the implementation plan.

Chakwera told the nation that he is quite aware that it is not as easy as just a journey to 2063, but a fight against distraction and obstacles to realize the dream, while lamenting that the nation for long time has been good at making speeches having focus and formulating many good plans but with no action to achieve them.

Further, President Chakwera told the audience that the launched document demands action from every citizen of the country, saying it is now high time that citizens do not limit career to the field of their education if the vision launched is to take Malawi to a better height. He has since urged all the citizens to take decisive action to correct all failures that have for long dwindled the development of Malawi.

The launch of the implementation plan was attended by many dignitaries including Vice President Saulos Chilima, while others like former President Bakili Muluzi and former Vice President Khumbo Kachali attended virtually.
