President Lazarus Chakwera will jet in today through Kamuzu International Airport from the United States of America after a successful Six-day official tour where he in his capacity as chairperson for Least Developed Countries went to attend the 5th United Nations Conference for LDCs.
Writing on his official page,President Chakwera described the trip successful as it resulted in adoption of the Doha Programme of Action.
The trip also gave President Chakwera an opportunity to meet other key global stakeholders.
“In addition the trip gave me an opportunity to meet key global stakeholders from the United Nations, United States government, IMF, and other multilateral organizations.” Reads his message in part.
He further said, numerous successes of the trip will be detailed once he jets into the country.
While in USA, President Chakwera also met and interacted with Malawians residing in that country.
