President Lazarus Chakwera says lack of information about what goods and services available in some African countries have readily available markets in other countries within the same region, hence having much of such goods and services supplied by countries outside the continent.

He was making the remarks in Durban, South Africa during an Intra-Africa Trade Fair on Monday, November 15,2021.

President Chakwera in his speech observed that the Intra-Africa Trade Fair is one way of making sure that obstacles of lacking information is removed, adding that if Africa is to promote its Intra Trade Fair, then having Intra-Africa Trade Fair in all countries across the region every year can be the best answer.

Further, President Chakwera who was accompanied by 30 local business representatives on his trip, said lack of access to the markets in respective countries within African continent, is denying the dream to have successful African Free Trade Area, hence a need to loosen some border regulations while strengthening Intra-African connections so as to close the gap existing between trading policy and trading practice.
