Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has commended President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera’s administration for offering full support to Goshen City Project in Monkey Bay in Mangochi.
Goshen City is a futuristic, commercial, tourist smart city located in Malawi with administratively defined boundaries whose members will work primarily on both agricultural and non-agricultural tasks.
The city will have extensive systems for medical facilities, education facilities, housing, transportation, sanitation, utilities, land use, production of goods, and communication.
Bushiri – a well-known businessman and leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) The Jesus Nation Church – envisions the city to be “the richest Iconic City in Africa, attracting the smartest brains, managing the most rewarding African brands in Africa and the world at large. A city of African global thinkers and businessmen.”
Speaking when the Minister of Tourism, Michael Usi, visited the project appreciate progress of his magnificent city recently, Bushiri said he was overwhelmed and overjoyed by the level of support and commitment the Chakwera administration has demonstrated towards the project.
“I wish to ask you Honourable Minister, to extend my gratitude to the President, for the support his administration is offering to this project. This is unprecedented and as an investor, I am very grateful to him,” said Bushiri.
He said the projects needs government support in areas of infrastructure development (building of roads, expansion of the national grid for all types of energy), tax incentives and government policy support for all Goshen City Initiatives.
Among others, the project envisages to create employment for Malawians, Malawi to become a Regional Hub for technology, tourism, medical care, which will, in turn, drive more people to Malawi that will boast foreign exchange.
Usi said President Chakwera fully supports the project because it is in line with his vision of job creation, boosting tourism and economic growth,
He added that his coming to visit the project is only a confirmation that President Chakwera’s government supports the project and will do everything to make sure it is a success.
