The State House says the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Judges of the High Court was shifted to an hour earlier from 10 to 9 O’clock to give room to the Vice President’s national address which was scheduled for same 10 o’clock this morning.
Speaking before the swearing in ceremony, the Director of Communications Sean Kampondeni said they sent the messages to the Judges at short notice about the changes and they all obliged by being at Kamuzu Palace in time.
Kampondeni said the State House made the adjustments to also give Malawians time to listen to the Vice President address and allow the journalist to patronize both.
“There was a slight change of time for this ceremony in order to give Malawians time to listen to the vice President address scheduled at 10 o’clock.
“We also did this to allow journalists transition from this function to Area 10 where the State Vice President’s address is taking place,” said Kampondeni.
Meanwhile the Vice president has announced that they have shifted the national address from 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock to give the swearing in ceremony the respect it deserves.
