President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that the Russian invasion on his country has disrupted the economic activities of the world.
Volonsky said this in a lengthy interview with President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Friday.
According to a statement released by State House after the discussion the Ukrainian leader indicated that the Russian invasion on his country has caused the acute shortage of essential commodities such as fuel, fertilizer and other food stuffs.
President Zelensky said the shortages have given rise to the uncontrollable increase of these commodities in the world.
“President Zelensky outlined various disruptions this war is causing, including the global price of fuel, food, fertilizer which he said will regularize once peace and security in Eastern Europe is restored,” reads the statement.
The Ukrainian leader thanked President Chakwera for his strong moral leadership for being the first leader to speak out against the Russian aggression.
It reads: “President Zelensky thanked President Chakwera for his strong moral leadership, having been on one of the first African leaders to speak out against the invasion of Ukraine.’’
The phone conversation was one way of strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two countries
