Winiko should stop drama over issues of national importance

Feb 6, 2023

On 17 April 2022, comedian-cum politician Bon Kalindo gave President Lazarus Chakwera a seven-days ultimatum to remove Anti-Corruption Bureau Director General Martha Chizuma

In a petition Winiko said if the Presidemt fails to fire Chizuma within the period, he would organise national wide demonstrations.

Kalindo flooded the social media with messages accusing Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima of failing to uphold rule of law especially on the issue of ACB Director whose leaked audio has been sanctioned to go under investigations by Court.

This is what he said: “Some people think when we do this we are against the ACB Director’s case to fight corruption but no, this issue is not about corruption, this is about integrity and violation of oath of secrecy. Chizuma is not untouchable. She is there to protect the law and if the court has given a go ahead for investigations into the audio to commence then if she is a person of integrity she must abide by that. She must resign and the President has to fire her.”

Barely half a year Winiko, the comedian, has changed his line of thinking this time he is busy leading Malawians on demonstrations agaunst the interdiction of Chizuma.

What people should know is that Chizuma is not above the law. If she crossed the path of law let her face it.
