The Impact Center for Economic Empowerment and Development ICEED on 05th July, 2022 joined the Malawi government and the international community in commemorating the World Day against Child Labour which falls on June 12 every year.

ICEED through the ILO’s ACCEEL Africa Malawi project is implementing a Technical vocational skill training programme targeting vulnerable youth ( 14 to 17) to prevent and withdraw from child labor and to rolling out economic strengthening activities for men and women at the row tier of Tea and coffee supply chains to enhance their livelihood.
ICEED is working with 300 boys and girls and 500 men and women as project beneficiaries from the five districts Chitipa, Mzimba, Ntchisi, Mulanje and Thyolo.
Speaking at the function, guest of honor who was the the Minister of Labour Vera Mkatukule applauded different NGOs including ICEED as well as local leaders who are working tirelessly to eradicate child labour. In addition, the minister also recommended the need to gear up efforts to eliminate all forms of child labour in Malawi.
